The (In)Equality Act passed by the Democrat-controlled House has nothing to do with equality but everything to do with enmity for actual constitutional rights and the most marginalized in society--the unborn. The misleadingly named #EqualityAct forces the funding of abortion and erases ALL conscience protections. It obliterates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and tramples on First Amendment religious freedom, stating: “The Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 shall not provide a claim concerning, or a defense to a claim under, a covered title, or provide a basis for challenging the application or enforcement of a covered title.” It's the only time religion is mentioned in the entire bill. There are zero exceptions. Everyone must bow to #LGBT authoritarianism. It allows men to compete against women in female sports. In quoting bogus statistics of LGBT couples adopting at rates "7x higher" than heterosexuals, it ignores the simple biological fact that any higher percentage would simply be because of the obvious.
This outrageous Act deliberately aims to shut down faith-based adoption agencies that believe vulnerable children deserve a mom and a dad. The text of the bill makes numerous unsubstantiated claims repeated by LGBT groups. One, for instance, talks about how LGBT foster kids are more susceptible to sexual exploitation from traffickers because of a lack of "LGBT affirming foster homes".
The leading LGBT groups (HRC, Lambda Legal) have been aggressively fighting to LEGALIZE prostitution--the very trafficking the bill claims it wants to protect vulnerable children from. This bill is a dangerous and radical overreach by government that, as usual, ignores the vast ramifications of redefining basic biology.
Call your Senator and urge her/him to reject this extreme bill.
